We understand that general purpose intelligent robots are going to be built in our lifetimes. And we don’t want to sit around waiting.

Founded by a close-knit group of engineers out of MIT, Tutor Intelligence is an early-stage startup developing state of the art AI-powered robotics for American factories. Our fleet of intelligent robot arms enables some of the largest logistics and manufacturing organizations to meet and exceed production goals while cutting operational expenses. As a member of Tutor’s software engineering team, you’ll be building the distributed infrastructure, orchestration, and user interfaces for the intelligent robots and factories of the future.

We develop abstractions over hardware to allow for software-defined factory labor, allowing us to move quickly to develop novel applications and and continuously improve existing ones. Our robots are web-enabled, allowing us to utilize powerful compute resources and GPUs on the cloud, versus the low-level controllers of today’s automation system. We operate robots as a fleet - managing them via live & transparent sensor feeds and operational metrics, which our customers can use to improve their day to day workflows to maximize efficiency. And we own our stack all the way down to embedded firmware, where we swim in the sea of the machines, sensors, and controllers that exist around our robots.

And this gives us some pretty interesting problems to work with.

Who are we looking for?

You are multidisciplinary, with interests broader than a singular technical focus. You love to build and to engineer. You are probably the sort of person with strong opinions about type systems, but can zoom out to laser focus on providing value to customers and production processes.

If this sounds like you, please apply and consider joining our 20-person team in building the industrial automation platform of tomorrow.
